Volunteer Centre Sefton has vast experience of working with and supporting local voluntary and community organisations. The Volunteer Centre currently has a membership of over 307 local volunteer-involving organisations.

If your organisation currently involves volunteers then the Volunteer Centre could help by:

- Providing advice and information on issues relating to volunteering
- Offering guidance and support on recruiting and supporting volunteers
- Recruiting and referring suitable new volunteers
- Helping to develop volunteering related policies and practices

Sefton Volunteer Co-ordinators Forum

The Forum is managed by the Volunteer Centre. Meetings are held quarterly in Sefton and are attended by representatives from a wide range of local volunteer-involving organisations. The meetings are very popular and offer an ideal opportunity for often isolated volunteer co-ordinators and managers to meet, discuss issues, access information and advice and participate in informal training and workshops.

The key aims of the Volunteer Co-ordinators Forum are to:

- Enable organisations to meet and discuss a range of relevant issues
- Share and develop best practice in volunteer recruitment & management
- Respond to local, regional and national volunteering strategies
- Build and sustain the capacity of local volunteer-involving organisations - Promote and improve positive relationships between local organisations
- Recognise and promote volunteering and volunteer management
- Provide guidance and direction for the work of Volunteer Centre Sefton

Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure Service

If your organisation works with children or vulnerable adults it may be necessary for paid staff and volunteers to undergo Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure checks. Sefton CVS is a registered CRB Umbrella Body and can help Sefton organisations through the process of applying for CRB checks. For information, contact details and charges download the:
